not in victory or defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its participants.”

It's never too late to begin learning the discipline of the martial arts. Any martial art is a process of developing one’s own body, mind and spirit to become a better human being. It is naturally non-competitive as each student seeks to discover their own strengths and weaknesses. It is an ongoing journey and has no prerequisites pertaining to age or gender.

The act of learning something new keeps the mind active and inquiring. It helps develop improved concentration, increased self-discipline, and promotes a positive attitude for self-improvement and confidence.

As an exercise, the martial arts are aerobic and anaerobic, use resistance training and plyometrics, teach proper breathing technique, keep you stretched and flexible, enhance balance, reduce levels of stress and they are fun.

The martial artist learns to set and achieve goals, learns self-motivation, develops leadership, and develops the patience to follow the path to success.

It is our belief that teaching application without philosophy runs the risk of creating a dangerous mentality. In contrast, teaching the philosophical aspects of an art without the in-depth knowledge of technique can lead to a hollow art.
